My personal ministry has always been focused on working with adults, but for those of you who are called to work with our youth, or know someone who is, Biblica Direct has some very affordable evangelism resources for kids from ages 6-10.

The New International Reader’s Version (NIrV), in an edition especially suited for children, features an easy-to-read Bible format with color insert pages, Bible illustrations, and call-out scripture passages.
According to Wikipedia the free online encyclopedia:
- “The New International Reader’s Version (NIrV) is an English language translation of the Christian Bible. Translated by the International Bible Society[1] on the same philosophy as the New International Version, but written in a simpler form of English, the NIRV seeks to make the Bible more accessible for people who have difficulty reading English, for example because they are non-native English speakers.”
Below is a comparison of a passage in the King James Version, the New International Version, and the New International Reader’s Version:
KJV: “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” (1 Timothy 3:16, KJV)
NIV: “16 Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He* appeared in a body,* was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.” (1 Timothy 3:16, NIV)
NIrV: “There is no doubt that godliness is a great mystery. Jesus appeared in a body. The Holy Spirit proved that he was the Son of God. He was seen by angels. He was preached among the nations. People in the world believed in him. He was taken up to heaven in glory.”
The bright cover art in this edition draws kids into the book with 24 color inserts featured in the front and back. It’s light and easy-to-carry, published in the softcover Bible edition.

- [1] Note: For 200 years International Bible Society (IBS) shared God’s Word around the world. Through two centuries of ministry, IBS provided Scriptures to soldiers on battlefields, inmates in prisons, immigrants, the poor, and anyone who needs the hope of the Bible.
For 50 years Send the Light (STL) has taken Christian literature to the farthest reaches of the world, so that people everywhere could encounter Jesus Christ through the gospel message.
In 2007 IBS and STL merged to take the Bible and biblical resources to new places, in more languages, in ways never before envisioned.
Biblica is the fruit of the merger between International Bible Society and Send the Light in 2007.
IBS-STL now moves into a third century of ministry as Biblica. But this is much more than a simple name change. Biblica is driven to reach those who have never experienced the transformational power of God’s Word in ways that uniquely meet their personal needs. ↩
